Inventor: Pham Hoang Thang
Inventions: Farm machines using plastic
Inventor’s location: Can Tho city, Vietnam
Pham Hoang Thang is an inventor from Can Tho city, Vietnam, and he has been inventing one farm machine after another using plastic for more than a decade now.
His very first invention was a plastic seed drill.
At that time, farmers were using iron seed drills, which were heavy and unproductive. Still, when he first demonstrated the plastic drills, the farmers were not that enthusiastic at first. In fact, some of them were skeptical.
But soon, they realized the merits of his invention – his product was much lighter, and more productive, and also, they took less time as well as fewer seeds to sow the same land area. They bought thousands of them, and the product is now very popular among farmers in Vietnam.
After this first invention, he was on a roll. His inventions afterwards include a fertilizer dispenser for cultivation in mountainous areas, an oxygen propeller for shrimp breeding, a rolled pesticide dispenser and a harvester-thresher based on foreign models.
He dreams big now – he wants to help more farmers within and outside Vietnam. Let us hope he succeeds!
