Interesting news from Turkey: it says two Turkish school kids (Omer and Yalcin Laloglu) have invented a gas leak detection device, which will also shut down the heating system to prevent accidents.

We do not know how the heating systems operate in Turkey, and so, do not have much details about how this device works. However, it does seem interesting.
The device costs around $10, according to the Ministry of National Education and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey. You can check with them for more details.
